Sciatica
Sciatica is a common symptom associated with lower back pain. It may sound quite serious but if treated correctly, it can be easily managed.
The pain will usually travel along the sciatic nerve which begins at the base of the spine and runs through your hip and buttock then down one or both legs.
You may experience symptoms such as mild tingling or numbness in the leg. It can generate severe pain at its worst but with the proper treatment, most people see the symptoms disappear completely over time.

What Causes Sciatica?
You may experience sciatica if you have incurred a spinal injury, disc bulges, bony spurs or tightness of muscles around the buttock area. It may also be caused by age-related degenerative changes to the spine.

Once the initial pain and inflammation have subsided, your local Chiropractor will work with you to regain normal core muscle control. Usually, the issue can be rectified using a regime of light exercises.
There are a number of things you can do to prevent sciatica. Maintaining a good physical condition is key, along with watching your weight and generally looking after your back. You can also do muscle strengthening exercises at home to prevent sciatica from returning.
